In a world where modern technology often overshadows the charm of vintage craftsmanship, the nearly lost art of fabric airplane restoration has become a rare gem for the aviation community.

This specialized service focuses on the meticulous restoration of antique airplanes, breathing new life into these historical treasures. Skilled artisans, equipped with a deep understanding of traditional techniques, carefully repair and replace the fabric coverings that define these classic aircraft.

The father and son team of Sam and Jay Agee are two of those artisans. So many projects have been through the shop from simple patches, control surfaces, wings, and many, many entire projects. Each restoration project is a labor of love, respecting the original design while enhancing safety and aesthetics.

A typical full restoration starts with a strip-down and cleanup/repair of the airframe. The airplane is carefully inspected to ensure airframe integrity and fully repaired as required by an authorized AP/IA.

The flight controls are inspected/repaired, and the airframe is then covered, primed, and painted using the Airtech Fabric Coating Process.

By preserving the integrity and heritage of these historic airplanes, we both honor the legacy of aviation and inspire future generations to appreciate the beauty and significance of antique aircraft.
