Jay flew that taildragger in airshows with the Great American Air Circus for over six years. During this time, he refined his stick and rudder flying skills with aviation legends such as Kenny Blaylock, Jim Gaston, Jack Davis, and Marion Cole. Jay received specialized instruction from US Aerobatic Champion Marion Cole in his renowned S2A Pitts Special, focusing on refining his aerobatic maneuvers, including the challenging inverted flat spin.
He learned energy management in a tailwheel aircraft with Dewayne Cole, who would skillfully cut the engine of his Taylorcraft at 3,000 feet, conduct an entire aerobatic show on the way down, land on the runway, and roll up the taxiway to the chocks where he was parked, every single time.
Jay has a unique and interesting background with a solid foundation in tailwheel flying. He has years of experience in business jets and twin-engine aircraft, along with skills in repairing, restoring, and painting antique fabric aircraft.
His diverse experiences, from performing in airshows and flying 500-foot river runs in the J-3 to navigating the RNAV approach into snowy Telluride in a Citation, truly set him apart from others in the field.

Chief Instructor: Jay Agee, CFI, Commercial Pilot
Jay began his flying journey in 1977, after NDBs were introduced, but well before GPS technology became common. At the age of 14, he took his first flight with his friend and flight instructor, Jack Davis, in a Twin Beech 18 on a mail run to Memphis. He continued to receive dual instruction in the Twin Beech while simultaneously training in Jack’s personal J3 Cub until he was old enough to earn his certification.
After obtaining his Private Pilot certificate at 17, Jay's father, Sam Agee, and Jack acquired a DeHavilland Chipmunk, which they transformed into an airshow performer. They equipped it with a 0540 engine, shorter metal wings, inverted fuel and oil systems, and a smoke system.
